How Many "Bags" Do You Need Help With Today?
Over the weekend, a series of small events occurred that often go unnoticed due to their insignificant nature. For instance, I found myself attempting to open a door while carrying multiple bags, while my friend simply stared at me. I do not know why I do not recognize how hard-headed I am after all these years of existence and insist on doing things my way when it clearly does not work. It was practically impossible to turn the door handle and hold all the bags simultaneously, but yes, that's how silly I am sometimes.
“Do you want me to help you?” She asked patiently.
“No, thanks, I can do it alone,” I replied. I tried again and failed.
“Yris, do you want me to carry something?”
“Fine. What should I give you?”
“Everything.”
Her response was like a cold bucket of water thrown at me, those that give you an invisible slap in the face. Because at that very moment, I felt that I was doing everything wrong.
Without saying anything, I handed her the bags and successfully closed the door.
Over the weekend, I spent some time reflecting on a past experience at a conference. I observed how businessmen were unafraid to ask for help from their counselors or peers, even when they were dealing with emotional challenges such as frustration, anger, or sadness.
There I was, supposedly setting an example, when I remembered a crucial lesson - that whether it’s God or some greater force in the universe that I often feel, everything that happened to me in the past few days serves to teach us something, even those little unnoticed events.
Are you feeling tired or worried? The universe wants to help you find rest and discover more effective ways to do things. It also wants to remind you of the importance of belief and reassure you that all experiences, even the most challenging ones, are filled with love and work in your favor. Don’t be afraid to put aside self-sufficiency. Taking care of yourself is important, and it’s okay to seek help when you need it.
